Medical Coder/Biller

Do you want to work in the medical field but can't stand the thought of blood and guts? Are you interested in the "business" side of medicine? Would you like a career as a medical coder and biller that offered you many employment opportunities?

It's time for you to enter our medical coder/biller program at Cape Coral Technical College. Students entering this program are offered multiple areas of studies not typical to other coding schools. Not only will you learn the most up-to-date coding rules but you will also be qualified to work in billing departments. You will learn to be a medical coder and medical biller, working with outpatient, surgical, and inpatient coding and billing in order to broaden you employment opportunities.

Cape Coral Technical College stays up to date on technology with the latest version of Microsoft Office products and coding software offered in the field. We are currently teaching both ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnostic, hospital procedural coding systems. ICD-10 will go into effect October 1, 2014. This change in coding systems will require new medical coders to be flexible, adaptable, and always in the “learning” mode when dealing with the business side of medicine.

Cape Coral Technical College prepares you for the future with ICD-10 training, insurance billing and insurance reimbursement, as well as CPC review and CPC preparation. We are a hands-on facility where you learn by applying coding and billing concepts from day one.
