Mr. Pease joined the CCTC family this year. He has served in a wide range of school leadership roles over the last eight years including Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director in Chicago and Lee County. He most recently worked at South Fort Myers High School with some of our area’s most successful career and technical academies. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Florida and earned Master’s degrees in both Educational Leadership and Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Ms. Sabiston joined our team this school year. She is a veteran educator with over two decades of classroom experience. She began her career working with at-risk students in a career and technical setting. She continued at South Fort Myers High School, where she was a Digital Media and Florida Southwestern State College Dual Enrollment Instructor, Career and Tech Ed Department Chair, as well as the FGCU/FSW Intern Coordinator. She is also an experienced grant writer. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
Ms. Tutay has worked for the Lee County School District for 15 years and has been the Director’s Secretary at FMTC and CCTC for eight years. Her tenure with the district began at Dunbar High School as the Principal’s Secretary in 2004. She has an Associate’s Degree from Florida Southwestern College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Stetson University.
Ms. Awadallah started her tenure with us in 2015 as our Health Science Programs Clerk. She later transitioned into her current role in which she assists with the enrollment process, transcripts, and certificates of completion amongst other student support-related responsibilities. She is a proud graduate of Cape Coral Technical College’s Medical Administrative Specialist program and enjoys seeing students succeed!
Mrs. de Freitas joined the Cape Coral Technical College family in June of 2019. She has worked in education for more than 10 years and started teaching high school in the School District of Lee County in 2013. She enjoys helping potential students explore our programs to find the right fit and she spends much of her time promoting our “Career in a Year” model in the Lee County Community. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from East Carolina University.
Mrs. De Jesus has been with Cape Coral Technical College since 2015. She started in the front office as our Clerk Typist/Receptionist and after three years transitioned into her current role as Health Science Secretary. She graduated from the Nails/Facial Specialist program at CCTC (High Tech North at the time) in 2007 and worked in a salon for seven years before returning to the CCTC family.
Mrs. Kerker joined our Cape Tech family in October of 2019 with past school receptionist experience at Pine Island Elementary and in her native Indiana. Prior to her joining our family she spent her career in the Electric Utility industry as a design engineer and as a quality engineer with Chrysler. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. She takes pride in being the smile and sunshine of the school and helping people when they walk in the door — first impressions are important!
Mr. Rivera has worked in the School District of Lee County for five years and is currently in his first year at Cape Coral Technical College. As our Career Specialist, he connects our students with industry-specific career opportunities and assists with résumé development and interview preparation. He also assists with the admissions process and maintains relationships with more than 150 local business partners. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of South Florida.
Jenn Robinson – HIRE Coordinator
Ms. Robinson is our “How I Reach Employment” (HIRE) Program Coordinator. She has more than a decade of experience with the School District of Lee County and her main focus is assisting students with learning disabilities with program support and securing gainful employment. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services from Florida State University and her Master’s in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
Business Office/Financial Aid
Mrs. Betancourt joined the CCTC family in 2006. She has worked in financial aid for eight years and assists students with grant and scholarship opportunities. She is a School Certifying Official (SCO) through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and enjoys helping students meet their career goals.
Ms. Lugo has worked in Financial Aid with the Lee County School District’s technical colleges for two years. She previously worked in banking for more than 20 years and with another local technical college for nine years. She enjoys advising students and is happy to assist with Pell grant and scholarship opportunities!
Mrs. Rivero has been part of our team since 2016. Her work involves maintaining a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions and assisting with budget prep, controls and reporting. She graduated from the Cape Coral Technical College Accounting program in 2014!
Ms. Rose joined the Cape Coral Technical College team in 2018. She worked in the banking industry for 20 years before transitioning into the world of education. Her work involves accounting, planning, organizing, and customer service along with assisting in the management of student financial files and accounts receivable.
Mr. Torres joined the Cape Coral Tech team in 2005 after retiring from 20 years of service with the New York City Police Department. Before his tenure with the NYPD, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. His friendly smile is the first thing visitors see when they arrive on campus!
Mrs. Catalan started working with CCTC in 2017 as a Paraprofessional supporting the Culinary Arts program and transitioned into the Information Specialist role last year. She has a wide-range of banking industry and data entry experience and she takes pride in her ability to organize, analyze and summarize key student data. This data is critical for program decision making and is reported frequently to the state of Florida and to our accrediting agency.
Mr. Driskell has been with CCTC since 2018. Prior to that he worked in the IT department at Florida Southwestern State College. He served in the United States Army in Parachute Infantry for nearly five years. He holds an Associate’s degree in Network Systems Technology from FSW.
Mr. Martin has been part of our team since 2017. He previously worked at Synergy Networks and has seven years of technical support experience. He is a proud graduate of Cape Coral Technical College’s Network Support Services Program.
Mrs. Braddock founded the Veterinary Assisting program here at Cape Coral Technical College in July of 2017. Prior to that she was a Veterinary Technology instructor at Pierpont Community and Technical College for 12 years and has nearly 20 total years of teaching experience in the field of veterinary medicine. She earned her degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Fairmont State University. If you love animals you will love her program!
Mrs. Bessette founded the Dental Assisting Program here at Cape Coral Technical College in July of 2016. She started her career as a dental assistant while pursuing her degree in dental hygiene. She is a Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and Registered Dental Hygienist. She brings over 30 years of dental experience to the classroom. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Miami Dade College and Bachelor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Ms. Dobberpuhl started teaching at Cape Coral Technical College in 2019. She has more than 20 years of experience in the medical management world and six years of experience in the medical coding field. She is a proud alumnus of CCTC – having graduated from the same program that she now teaches before continuing her education and earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Management from Hodges University.
Mrs. Enns has been teaching at Cape Coral Technical College since 2014, first as Patient Care Assistant then Nursing Assistant and finally as Practical Nursing Instructor, currently teaching the part-time programs at both the Cape Coral and Fort Myers campuses. Her field of experience spans over 30 years in USA and Canada and she is nationally Certified as a Nurse Educator (CNE). She loves being a small part of students’ success stories and emphasizes that integrity is one of the most important factors in making great nurses. Her Master of Science in Nursing is from Chamberlain College of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing is from Viterbo University, and Diploma in Nursing is from St. Boniface General Hospital Diploma School of Nursing.
Ms. Hodges has been with Cape Coral Technical College since 2018. She is an experienced Registered Nurse and a graduate of our sister school, Fort Myers Technical College. She also earned an Associate’s degree in nursing from Excelsior College.
Tina Johnston – Medical Assisting Instructor
Ms. Johnston initiated the Medical Assisting program at Cape Coral Technical College in August of 2016. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1995. As a nurse she has had the opportunity to work in many areas of the medical field, including medical and surgical units, newborn intensive care, surgical intensive care, cardiac intensive care, and community health. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Valdosta State University.
Ms. Lemos has been our MAS program instructor for 4 years. Prior to teaching at CCTC, she managed a large dermatology office in Fort Myers. She loves helping students achieve their goals and uses a hands-on, scenario-based approach to prepare students for the workplace. She is a graduate of Cape Coral Technical College’s MAS program and holds industry certifications as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and as a Microsoft Office Specialist.
Mrs. Manson joined CCTC in 2018 as the second Medical Assisting Instructor. Prior to becoming part of our team, she was a cardiology nurse and Paramedic for Lee County EMS. She has also done clinical instructing at FSW for the E.M.T. and Paramedic programs. She earned degrees from Florida Southwestern State College and Excelsior College of Nursing.
Ms. Shearer has been part of the Cape Coral Technical College team since 1995. She has been a nurse for 43 years and is passionate about helping others achieve careers in the field. She has a Master’s degree in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida.
Mrs. Torres has been teaching Practical Nursing at Cape Coral Technical College since 2012. She has 22 years of experience and is certified as an Operating Room Nurse. She is passionate about teaching and mentoring successful nurses and is proud of our LPN program’s #2 ranking in the state of Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Central Methodist College.
Chris Weygant, EFDA, CDA – Dental Assisting Instructor
Mrs. Weygant has worked in the dental field for more than 20 years. She is an advocate for giving back to the community and her students often volunteer at local non-profits such as Project Dentists Care and participate in events such as Dentistry from the Heart. She earned an Associate’s degree from Florida Southwestern State College and is currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree at FGCU.
Ms. Almodovar has been teaching for more than 10 years and joined our team in 2015. Before coming to CCTC she taught at two private cosmetology schools. She strives to instill professionalism and a sense of confidence in all of her students. She graduated from technical school with her cosmetology license during high school in 1995 and she is a life-long learner – completing the Milady Master Educator course in 2014 and the CND Grand Master Nail certification in 2017.
Mrs. Kohl has been a Paraprofessional for the Cosmetology and Barbering programs for nearly three years. She is also our Wellness Coordinator. Prior to joining our team she was a Family Worker/Teacher Assistant for the Head Start Program in Kansas. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Barton County Community College.
Mrs. Lewandowski founded the Barbering program at CCTC in July 2017. She takes pride in giving back to the community and promoting service learning. Her students travel three times per month to places such as Hearts and Homes for Veterans to provide free haircuts to those who have served our country. She is a dual Licensed Barber/Stylist and has been an educator in the field of Cosmetology and Barbering for a total of 30 years. Our salon is open to the public — call today to schedule an appointment!
Ms. Martin has been at CCTC since January 2019 and supports our Culinary Arts program and the day-to-day operation of our Culinary Cafe. She previously worked in food service with elementary schools in the School District of Lee County for a total of 25 years – serving in management roles for 21 years. She enjoys working with Chef Stone and the students in a variety of ways.
Chef Stone has taught Culinary Arts in Lee County for more than 10 years. Before joining the district he served in all aspects of the restaurant business from waiter to bartender to every position in the kitchen brigade for well over a decade. His goal is to teach both business and culinary skills with a high level of energy and create passionate professionals who are ready to enter the industry and soar.
Mr. Bolling has 20 years of experience in the IT industry and 12 years teaching at local colleges and universities. He has earned more than 20 industry certifications covering a broad range of IT subjects and has been developing the networking programs at CCTC for six years. He holds a Master’s degree in Management of Information Systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology.
Mr. Calfee has been teaching Digital Design at Cape Coral Technical College since 2015. He has extensive experience as a professional graphic designer and has been teaching Digital Design at both the secondary and college levels for 10 years. His students work on several projects including designing and publishing our semi-annual CapeTech magazine which is distributed throughout the local community. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
Mr. Hart has been the Electronics Instructor at Cape Coral Technical College since 2000. He previously taught Introduction to Computers at North Fort Myers High School in the evenings. He worked in the Electrical Field as a supervisor earning several certifications. As an ETA International Certification Administrator, Mr. Hart can administer certification exams for various occupations that require certification. If you love to tinker with wires and circuits, this program will give you practical experience while helping you achieve your career goals.
Mr. Gomez has been part of our team for three years. He previously worked in furniture and interior design in Spain for nearly 10 years. Originally from Cuba, he worked in video production for the national television and news station for several years in the country’s capital where he initially studied law at the University of Havana.
Mr. Izquierdo has been at CCTC for three years and with the school district for a total of eight years. Prior to that, he worked in the construction industry in Florida and was a mathematics teacher in Cuba for 15 years. He earned a degree in Education through the University of Havana
Mr. Kachold joined our team this school year after moving to the area from the midwest in early 2019. Previously, he lived in Chicago all his life and has extensive experience as an industrial painter. He is a graduate of Washburne Trade School.
Mr. Trupo has been part of our team and making our building shine since 2015! He started with the School District of Lee County in 2007 as a custodian before advancing into supervisory roles. He is a proud veteran, having served our country in the United States Army right out of high school.
